The Wenonah Kitchen

The kitchen and dining room in this Oak Park home were functional but disconnected — separate spaces that didn't communicate, making everyday life feel more segmented than it needed to be. A complete kitchen renovation gave us the opportunity to open up the floor plan and create one cohesive, calm zone where the whole family could come together.
The new kitchen is airy and uncluttered, with a palette and material selection that brings a sense of quiet to one of the busiest rooms in the house. The layout now flows naturally into the dining area, making meals — whether a rushed Tuesday breakfast or a Saturday dinner party — feel easy and connected. The family bathroom was also updated as part of this project, with the same commitment to calm, considered design.
This is a project about how a well-designed kitchen can change the entire emotional register of a home — making the ordinary moments of daily life feel a little more like the ones worth remembering.
